On September 6, Hailiang Co, Ltd. (hereafter Hailiang) made its official debut at the 8th China Advanced Materials Expo and was honored as the “2022-2023 Annual Innovation Enterprise of High-Performance Materials and Technology”.
The China Advanced Materials Expo is one of the most representative and influential exhibitions in the field of new materials in China. It has been successfully held for 7 sessions since 2016. The expo this year, with the theme “Advanced Materials Leading the Development of High-End Equipment Industry”, took place at the Qingdao Cosmopolitan Exposition.
The exhibition brought together more than 500 domestic new materials enterprises in the high-end equipment field and showcased new materials achievements from over 50 universities across the country. The event also hosted over 10 technical forums and supply-demand matchmaking sessions in various materials sectors, creating a comprehensive platform for showcasing and trading the industry chain of advanced materials. Leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the State Administration of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defense, PRC, as well as officials from governments of Shandong Province, cities, and districts attended the event. Prominent domestic media outlets, including CCTV, People’s Daily, and Xinhua News Agency, provided coverage.
The exhibition took place from September 6 to 8, spanning 3 days. Hailiang made its official debut at booth S5.T56A, achieving 3 levels of “new” achievements!
New Materials and New Strategies
Hailiang made its debut in the field of high-performance new materials at the exhibition and showcased its latest copper foil product.
Currently, Hailiang’s lithium cell copper foil products can be as thin as 3.5μm, with a copper purity of 99.9%. They have excellent tensile strength with stable quality. Hailiang has already established connections with over 160 downstream battery customers and developed supply and procurement relationships with more than 70 customers, which accelerated its entry into the supply chain system of leading battery manufacturers.
The development of copper foil materials is a significant strategic decision by Hailiang, in response to the national call for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and an entry into the new energy industry. It is also one of the important strategic layouts of Hailiang’s smart manufacturing initiatives.
In addition to copper foil products, Hailiang’s pipeline components and copper rod products continue to advance, with various product types on display at the exhibition.

On the first day of the exhibition, Hailiang was awarded the title of “2022-2023 Annual Innovation Enterprise of High-Performance Materials and Technology”.
Other award recipients, such as the Xi’an Aerospace Composite Materials Research Institute, have made significant contributions in the field of high-tech materials in China. This recognition signifies that Hailiang has gained broad recognition in the field of new materials, marking a new phase of development in the field of new energy materials!
New Posture and New Future
During the exhibition, Hailiang participated with a new team and a youthful attitude, focusing on enhancing the team members’ overall skill levels. The exhibition team is mostly composed of individuals from the 1990s generation, and it was their first time participating. However, they didn’t feel intimidated in the presence of industry experts. They were able to expertly explain the products, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.
The exhibition team members aimed to improve their business capabilities and, at the exhibition, fully displayed their proactiveness, showcasing Hailiang’s determination to pursue excellence.
