Safety in production is the lifeline of a company's survival and development, the cornerstone of a happy family life, and the source of joy for every employee in their work.
June of this year marked the 22nd National "Safety Production Month." In a bid to thoroughly propagate and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important remarks on safety production, and earnestly carry out the decisions and arrangements of the Central Party and the State Council, Hailiang organized a variety of safety activities centered around the theme "Safety for All, Emergency Response for Everyone." One of the key activities in this initiative was the Safety Knowledge Competition.
This year's Safety Knowledge Competition consisted of two stages: the online preliminary round and the on-site final round. After a month of intense competition, six teams, representing different divisions including the Shanghai base, Shandong base, Zhejiang base's Conductor Business Unit, Precision Tube Business Unit, Metal Precision Forming Business Unit, and Pure Copper Precision Parts Business Unit, emerged as the finalists.
On August 25, the Hailiang's 5th (2023) Safety Knowledge Competition final round was grandly launched at the Hailiang Business Hotel!
The event was graced by the presence of Wu Xianchao, a Level Four Researcher and Inspector at the Shaoxing Emergency Management Bureau, Guo Chang, the Party Secretary and Director of the Zhuji Emergency Management Bureau, and Chen Jiefeng, a Party Committee Member and Deputy Director of the Zhuji Emergency Management Bureau. Also attending were Zhang Xiangchun, a Party Committee Member and Minister of the People's Armed Forces Department of Diankou Town, Zhuji City and Zhang Jiangjie, a Party Committee Member of Diankou Town, Zhuji City, He Chuan, Deputy Director of Emergency Management Support Service Center of Shaoxing Emergency Management Bureau, Zheng Jiabo, Director of Emergency Management Support Service Center of Zhuji Emergency Management Bureau, and Zhou Kebin, Deputy Director of the Office of Emergency and Fire Safety Management of Diankou Town, Zhuji City. From Hailiang Group, the attendees included Feng Weifeng, Deputy Secretary of the Hailiang Group Party Committee, Director of the Integrity and Clean Governance Department, Yu Zufu, Director of the Hailiang Group Integrity and Clean Governance Department, and Hailiang Group Vice Presidents Dong Zhiqiang, Sun Hongjun, Wu Changming, among others.
The judging panel comprised Sun Yongwei, Section Chief of the Legal Affairs Department of the Zhejiang Shaoxing Emergency Management Bureau, He Guanping, former Deputy Director of the Hailiang Group Safety Inspection Department, and Sun Zhimin, Director of the Hailiang Group Energy and Security Environmental Protection Department. Diankou Town People's Government also organized more than 20 brother units, including Zhejiang Dun'an Hetian Metal Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Vie Science and Technology Co., Ltd., to attend the event as observers.
The final round was divided into six sections: the mandatory questions, quick response questions, team leader questions, risk questions, extra round questions, and audience questions. The competition focused on safety production regulations and laws, integrating the company's actual safety production work. It tested participants on their theoretical safety knowledge as well as their practical safety skills.
The competition employed random selection of questions, referee judging, and on-site scoring to ensure fairness and justice. Eighteen participants from six teams showcased their profound safety knowledge, skills, and outstanding personal qualities.
During the interactive segment of audience questions, on-site spectators from the Zhejiang base performed remarkably well, adeptly answering various safety questions and rightfully collecting exquisite gifts.
The thrilling final included sketches, interactive games, and several rounds of lucky draws. These activities cleverly integrated safety knowledge into everyday work and life, providing both entertainment and the profound educational value of strengthening safety awareness. The atmosphere reached its peak.
After intense rounds of competition, the Conductor Business Unit of the Zhejiang Base emerged as champions of this Safety Knowledge Competition. The Pure Copper Precision Parts Business Unit of the Zhejiang Base secured second place, and the Precision Tube Business Unit of the Zhejiang Base achieved third place. Competitors He Chunjie, Wang Haiquan, and Li Yan were honored with the titles of "Safety Knowledge Expert," "Safety Knowledge Model," and "Safety Knowledge Ambassador" respectively for their outstanding performances.
Guo Chang, Zhang Jiangjie, Feng Weifeng, and Dong Zhiqiang presented trophies, certificates of honor, monetary prizes, and gifts to the winning teams and participants, and took group photographs.
Wu Xianchao delivered a speech on stage, offering full recognition of Hailiang's dedication to safety in its operations and commending the company for organizing the Safety Knowledge Competition for five consecutive years. He emphasized that learning is an ongoing journey, and the knowledge acquired from this competition should be practically applied to enhance employees' sense of responsibility and reinforce the chain of accountability. This, in turn, would lead to deeper and more practical efforts in the realm of safety. The competition serves as a means to promote learning, training, and action while further establishing the safety production responsibility system. Shaoxing Emergency Management Bureau will continue to strengthen safety supervision, fortifying the foundations of safety production to create a stable and secure environment conducive to high-quality development.
Dong Zhiqiang took the stage to express his sincere gratitude for the strong support from Shaoxing Emergency Management Bureau, Zhuji Emergency Management Bureau, and the Party Committee and Government of Diankou Town, Zhuji City. He wholeheartedly praised the hard work of the event's organizing and execution team and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the successful conclusion of the 5th Hailiang Safety Knowledge Competition, as well as the winning teams and participants. He pointed out that Hailiang will consistently adhere to a people-centric and integrity-based management philosophy.
